Orthopedic shoes tailored to your feet
As an orthotist for more than 30 years, we know how important shoes are in our daily lives. In addition to enhancing the style of each person’s clothing, they need to provide optimal support and comfort for our feet.
Long labeled as unattractive or unsightly shoes, orthopedic shoes are now offered by many brands in a variety of styles. Whether for children, women or men, there is always a pair to suit every occasion and situation.
At Laboratoire Orthopédique Jérôme Marier, we carefully select brands and models in order to offer the highest quality and most durable shoes to our patients. When you combine a pair of orthopedic shoes with custom foot orthotics, you can be sure that your feet will be better supported, your posture and gait will be improved and you will prevent certain pains or pathologies.
What are the benefits of orthopedic shoes?
Often, ill-fitting or maladjusted shoes can bring about discomfort and lead to certain medical issues. Orthopedic footwear can help alleviate discomfort caused by improper posture, as well as treat many types of pain.
Preventing pathologies
Wearing orthopedic shoes can help prevent pathologies such as Achilles tendonitis, Morton’s neuroma, metatarsalgia, tibial periostitis, plantar fasciitis, bunions (Hallux Valgus), and sciatica.
Treating pain and posture
When combined with foot orthotics, orthopedic shoes can also be used to rebalance posture and treat many foot-related pains. They correct the foot and improve mobility by providing better foot support.
Can anyone get orthopedic shoes?
Orthopedic shoes are for everyone. Many of the shoes we wear regularly are not ideal due to their size or fit being too small or too tight. This can increase the risk of pain and biomechanical pathologies.
Orthopedic shoes are now available for all situations. At Laboratoire Orthopédique Jérôme Marier, we offer a wide variety of models, from work boots and sports shoes to everyday shoes and even hiking shoes. We also have a wide range of attractive shoes for women and men.
What makes a good orthopedic shoe?
When selecting orthopedic footwear for our patients, we take into account several key factors that can help to achieve better results. We assess the quality, reinforcement, arch composition (steel) and heel structure to ensure they meet standards.
We prefer shoes with laces for the purpose of adjusting the fit to the foot. Additionally, having a removable sole will allow for the insertion of orthopedic devices.
