Specialized nurse practitioner (IPS) in primary care in Saint-Jérôme

Are you experiencing back, knee or joint pain?
Do not let the discomfort persist.

At Laboratoire Orthopédique Jérôme Marier, we now offer complete medical care in collaboration with Mr. Mathieu Charron, a specialized nurse practitioner (IPS) in primary care.
This service gives you access to a precise assessment and treatment adapted to your needs, directly at our Saint-Jérôme clinic.

Our mission is simple: to provide timely access to personalized medical care, without the usual delays associated with seeing a physician or orthopedist.

A practice focused on musculoskeletal pain

Mathieu Charron has a particular interest in musculoskeletal health. He can provide medical care to patients with muscular, joint or nerve pain related to work, sports or an injury.

Examples of conditions he regularly treats include:

  • back pain, knee pain, hip pain or foot pain;
  • tendinitis, bursitis, plantar fasciitis and lower back pain;
  • sports injuries or chronic pain.

Under the authority of the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ), specialized nurse practitioners such as Mr. Charron are trained to provide medical treatments, make diagnoses, order diagnostic imaging and provide personalized follow-up.

Mr. Charron works directly with our orthotists and, when needed, with physiotherapists, occupational therapists and orthopedic surgeons to provide comprehensive care.
This integrated approach supports effective and consistent follow-up for your condition.

What our specialized nurse practitioner can do for you

Mathieu Charron, IPS, welcomes you in a warm, professional environment and takes the time to address your needs.

Some of the services he provides include:

  • Complete assessment of symptoms and diagnosis of musculoskeletal conditions
  • Medication prescriptions including anti-inflammatory medication and muscle relaxants
  • Cortisone injections to provide timely pain relief
  • Orthosis prescriptions or other medical devices
  • Diagnostic imaging requests (X-ray, ultrasound or scan)
  • Referrals to specialists or orthopedic surgeons when necessary

In addition to musculoskeletal concerns, he can also see patients for common medical concerns such as:

  • Ear infections
  • Sinusitis
  • Bronchitis

Complete and accessible care and services

Our specialized nurse practitioner does more than make a diagnosis. He takes the time to explain each step, listen to your concerns and guide you toward the most appropriate solution.
Working with our team of orthopedists and orthotists, he provides integrated medical and nursing care designed to improve your quality of life.

We believe effective treatment begins with understanding your condition. Each patient therefore receives a personalized care plan adapted to their age, lifestyle and type of injury.

Orthopedic nursing care in the Laurentians

Through this collaboration, our laboratory offers patients access to a specialized nurse practitioner, receive a complete assessment and, when necessary, obtain a referral to an orthopedic surgeon or another health professional.

This integrated care model reflects our team’s mission: to provide accessible, effective and compassionate care.

An option for people without a family physician

Many people in Quebec do not have a family physician. This service addresses that growing need by providing direct access to a qualified professional.

This service is particularly helpful for people without a family physician. It provides timely, safe and effective access to quality medical care, especially when clinic appointment wait times are long.
